Whereas competitive entrance-based route of admission to B.Tech (through JEE Main), is the mainstream method to get admission to the best government-owned institutes (IITs, NITs), but direct through Class 11th/12th marks-based admissions prevail in most of the university, institutes that belong to the private sector and a few government-owned institutes (deemed-to-be) universities. Since you have 74.2 (both matriculation and intermediate), you are the eligible candidate to get into many of such institutions. Institutional level Direct admissions or high weightage to 12th marks are common in colleges such as Manipal University Jaipur, C

Government engineering colleges in India, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs, are highly sought after due to their affordable fees (ranging from INR 50,000 to 10 Lacs for the full course), high academic standards, and strong placement records. Admission is primarily through national-level entrance exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced, or state-level exams. They offer diverse specializations, robust infrastructure, and often provide scholarships. Prominent examples include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, NIT Trichy, and Jadavpur University.

With a JEE Mains open category rank of 31,000, getting into top NITs or IIITs for core branches is tough, but admission is possible in lower-ranked NITs, newer IIITs, and several GFTIs for non-core branches or through the home state quota. You also have good chances in your state government engineering colleges via state counseling. Being flexible with branch and location will improve your chances.

Admission to the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow B.Tech CSE program can be done via CUET UG, yes. IET Lucknow is taking results on both JEE Main and CUET UG. This will be done through UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) in which the seats will be given according to your CUET UG score.

JEE Main is a common entrance exam used to find admission to most of the leading engineering colleges in Maharashtra to pursue B.Tech. Important ones are Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur, Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai, and COEP Technological University formerly College of Engineering Pune. Ranks in JEE Main are also factored (mostly along with the MHT CET scores) by other notable colleges such as VJTI Mumbai, Army Institute of Technology (AIT) Pune, GH Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur and other institutes under Dr. D.Y. Patil.

Islamiah Institute of Technology mostly gives admission B.E. CSE based on Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) and COMEDK UGET. Whereas some resources refer to JEE main, it is primarily a state quota seat institution in Karnataka. So chances of you being able to walk in and get somehow admitted with your AP EAMCET score are slim because that is an Andhra Pradesh state level exam. You would also be required to meet their specific admission requirements which in most cases put more importance on KCET ranks.

With a JEE Main CRL rank of 848,537 and Gen-EWS rank of 103,284, admission into B.Tech CSE at GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar is not possible. Even home-state cutoffs for CSE stayed below 41,224 in 2024 (Round 3) . Also note that MP domicile does not qualify for Uttarakhand home-state quota.

Admission to M.Tech in NIT Calicut is Chiefly located by scores in GATE or counseling of CCMT. But within this they also have a Self-Sponsored section in the M.Tech programs such as Computer Science and Engineering. In these seats one qualifies based on his or her performance in a written examination and/or interview by the concerned department. Thus, you could have a chance to make use of the self-sponsored scheme and receive your admission on the basis of their personal directed test and interview in spite of the low mark in GATE. Self-sponsored seats are the ones in which financial aid/stipend is usually not provided.
