If you belong to the General category AI quota, you would need to secure a score well above 300 to get a chance for admission at IIIT Kalyani as M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems cutoff score 2025 is 358. For the OBC AI category, the cutoff for the same course is 330. Similarly, other categories will have differing cutoff scores. Yes, GITAMN University does offer lateral entry into its BTech course for interested students. Candidates who wish to gain lateral entry into the 2nd year of BTech need to either clear a BSc course with Mathematics as one of the subjects or clear a Diploma in engineering and technology. The commencement dates for the M.Tech course at NIELIT Calicut are usually announced after the CCMT counselling process. The orientation of the course was held at the beginning of August. Moreover, the classes of the first semester commence either in the last week of August or the initial week of September.

No, GATE scores are not compulsory for admissions to the M.Tech course at NIELIT Calicut. The institute also offers admissions to those students who have not appeared in GATE. The unfilled GATE seats will first be filled with NON-GATE candidates from Kerala state based on the nativity certificate. If seats are still remaining vacant, candidates from other states will be considered for admission.
Moreover, the institute also allocates 5 seats to each M.Tech branch for sponsored category students. However, apart from all these aspects, applicants with GATE scores are considered more for admission.

NIELIT Calicut offers M.Tech in three specialisations. The names of the offered specialisations are Embedded Systems, Electronics Design and Technology, and Automotive Electronics. The eligibility requirements and admission process of every offered specialsiations are similar. Moreover, candidates having a valid GATE score shall be given preference for admission and are eligible for a scholarship from AICTE.

As per the IIIT Kalyani cutoff 2025, the cutoff score for M.Tech courses has been declared for all categories and rounds. M.Tech cutoff 2025, for M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems, was 354 as per the last round for the General AI quota. For the OBC AI quota, the last round cutoff score for the same course was 342. Please refer to the table below to know the cutoff for various other categories.
