Yes, you can change your stream but directly PG in humanities and social sciences seems difficult as a UG is also required in that subject. Nevertheless, you should go through the prospectus provided to confirm the eligibility criteria.

As you have scored well so you might land up in a good NIT in mechanical branch such as NIT hamirpur, Jalandhar so definitely apply and keep a follow up during counseling process.

You should give an attempt to April exam also as you might score better than this and improve your chances of getting a best college other than IIT. So, I would advise to give a chance as while preparing for advance you would obviously get prepared for Mains.
