UGC has proscribed or banned any university from offering professional courses via distance mode. Getting admission to an institute abroad is not only dependent on marks obtained in the qualifying examination but it depends on many other factors also. In addition, your Diploma would be treated as equivalent to class 12th and you would be given admission in the 1st year of the degree course. However, this is not mandated for private establishments not taking any aid from the government. Hence if you are thinking of seeking admission in a government or government-aided college then you should use your category rank for getting admission in that particular category.
