With 150 marks in TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions), your son is likely to get admitted in tier-2 or tier-3 engineering colleges for CSE, particularly under state quota. Some of the probable possibilities are Kongun Engineering College, Panimalar Institute, RMK Engineering College, and Velammal Engineering College, based on the community and cutoff trends.

Some of the top institutes are Government Polytechnic Mumbai, Delhi Institute of Tool Engineering, Pusa Polytechnic in Delhi, PSG Polytechnic College in Coimbatore, Bangalore Institute of Technology, and Chandigarh Polytechnic College. With 77% in boards but only 41 percentile in JEE Main, admission to Medi-Caps University's B.Tech AIML is unlikely, as the cutoff is usually above 60–65 percentile. You may need to consider other branches or colleges with lower cutoffs.

  • No the admission is strictly through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) counselling through Anna university.
  • There are no management seat or direct admission seat available in this college.
  • It's purely based on TNEA rank, The cutoff ranks for 2025 BE (General) in the range of 9,049-38,732 and B.Tech at 36,712

For NIT/IIIT via JEE Main, 75% in Class 12 or top 20 percentile is needed with Maths included. Removing Maths to calculate percentage won't meet eligibility. Your 80 percentile (without Maths) won't qualify for NIT, but you may still get state government engineering colleges via WBJEE if PCM marks meet their minimum criteria.

A rank of 7505 in VITEEE is generally considered good enough for CSE at VIT Vellore, espically since you have been offered a seat in category 4. However, whether it's worth it depends on your priorities and financial situation as category 4 tution fees is higher
