You will be given the books required for the semister and you have to return after completing the semister and take the books of the next semister.and if you need any other books which they have not given .
They will give library cards . you can use that library cards for borrowing the books.
And there is no dress code and fees. You have to wear formal and on Saturdays t-shirts are allowed.

Candidate must have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized board with minimum 55%.
(For SC/ ST: - Candidate must have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized board.)

Candidate must have passed B.Sc. from a recognized college/ university with minimum 55% and must have studied mathematics at graduation level or 10+2 level.

Yes, ECE students can take up CSE GATE.
However, this is not as easy as it looks. You need to work your off to crack the exam.
Also, note that a few colleges require you to have a degree also in the same domain as the
GATE paper. For instance, I am ECE and I want to take up "Automobile technology" at some college listed under their department of Mechanical Engineering. Hence, I appear for GATE ME paper, but still not eligible to get that particular course because the college also requires me to have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME).
