Prompt Engineering is more about the smart use of natural language and understanding AI behavior than mathematical calculations. A good command over Mathematics can surely be a plus point for you in the case of advanced-level prompting, working with datasets, or AI research and lead to better career prospects, but it is not a compulsory requirement to excel in the profession.

Prompt Engineering is not the same as coding, though they often seem like similar concepts. While coding has more to do with controlling computer behavior using static programming languages and algorithms, Prompt Engineering is about giving prompts and having dynamic conversations with AI models using natural language and seeing what kind of responses are generated.

Prompt Engineering basically focuses on effective communication with AI models through smart and strategic prompts to get intended outcomes. This means assisting AI-powered models to refer to the right sources and frame precise answers based on an input or create desired image templates. It is about getting the most out of AI, improving result accuracy and reliability.
