The basic criterion of eligibility needed to be MET for admission to the course is a Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/ or Math as main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 55%.

To pursue M. Sc. in forensic science from LNJN, the mandatory course is is B. Sc. You should have studied at least 2 year (4 semesters) of 3 years degree course in any 2 of the following subjects:
1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Biology (Zoology/ Genetics/ Bio-technology/ Physical Anthropology)
Minimum percentage required in graduation is 50%.
