Yes, there is an age limit for some forestry courses, such as a
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry: BSc Forestry: The minimum age requirement for a BSc in Forestry is usually 17 years old, and the maximum is 21 years old.
Distance education BSc Forestry: There is no upper age limit for distance education programs.

Eligibility criteria for Forestry courses depend on course levels.
- For the UG course, you must pass Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) subjects from a recognised board.
- For the PG course, you must obtain a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university.
- Finally, for PhD, you must have a master's degree in a relevant discipline.

Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry has certain qualifying requirements that applicants must meet in addition to passing the national level entrance exams in order to be admitted to various programs:
1. Domicile Requirements: Candidates who are state residents of Himachal Pradesh are accorded certain privileges and preferences. This is program-specific.
2. Age Limit: For some programs, candidates cannot be older than the specified age limit. For instance, UG takes 25, MA takes 28, and PhD takes 30 years. Regarding reserved categories, there is a relaxation.
3. Qualifying Degrees: Depending on the undergraduate or grad

A Bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks and Masters degree (minimum two years prescribed duration after 10+2+3 years of formal education) in relevant discipline (relevancy has to be decided by the IIFM) with minimum 55% marks (absolute) including Five year/Four-year Integrated Master's Degree programme. IIFM will use XAT score for short-listing the candidates for calling for GD/PI. 10+2 in the Science stream, completed from a recognised educational Board. A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation. Candidates appearing in their final 10+2 exams are also eligible to apply for the course on provisional basis. Thanks!

Graduation or another such equivalent course in a relevant discipline, completed from a recognised university. Graduation needs to have been completed in any of:
Sc. (Forestry)
Sc. (Agriculture)
Sc. (Horticulture)
Tech. (Horticulture)
Tech. (Agricultural Biotechnology). A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply for the course on provisional basis.
