To become a game designer in India you don't need to have a particular degree but a degree in B.Des. or in computer Science could be helpful. Start nurturing your soft skills like Storytelling, Communication and art and design. Also having a stronghold on technical skills like Programming, Game Engines, Maths and Physics could be really helpful. Once you feel ready start gaining experience through internships, personal projects, Freelancing and game testing and buil a strong portfolio throughout. That would be perfect to kickstart your career as a Game Designer.

Yes, a biology student take admission in B.Des Game designing after 12th in any streams. The eligibility criteria of UPES Dehradun is given below for an idea.
Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks at 10th and 12th in any stream.
Selection criteria: National level NID/NIFT/UCEED/JEE/ UPESDAT/ Board merit/ CUET followed by portfolio presentation & interview.

Hi,
To become a game designer after Class 12, you can either pursue a Diploma or certificate course in Game Design and/or relevant courses. This will help in providing you with foundational skills needed to enter the field. You can also go for Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field to gain a deeper understanding of game development.

A Game Designer will have different responsibilities, based on their expertise level and the company they work at. But the primary responsibilities include the following.
- Ensure gameplay mechanics and interactive experiences are present in the game
- Create game design documents that are often detailed
- Know how to balance game difficulty and what engages different kinds of players
