  • Log in using credentials - enrollment ID and password. 

  • The hall ticket will be displayed on the GATE GOAPS candidate's dashboard

  • Aerospace Engineering (AE)

  • Agricultural Engineering (AG)

  • Architectural Engineering (AR)

  • Environmental Science and Engineering (ES)

  • Geomatics Engineering (GE)

  • Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM)

  • Engineering Sciences (XE)

The exam pattern and distribution of questions for test paper codes - CE, CS, EC, AE, AG, BT, CH, ME, MN, MT, EE, IN, TF, XE, PE, ST, and PI are as follows -

  • General Aptitude (GA)-  15 questions

  • Engineering Mathematics (EM) - 13 questions

  • Subject-specific questions - 72 questions 

The GATE question paper is of 100 marks total with a time duration of three hours.

The marking scheme is different for each GATE question paper section, which is as follows -

  • For 1 mark Multiple Choice Questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  • For 2 mark Multiple Choice Questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  • There is no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

  • No marks will be awarded for unattempted questions.

The GATE Enrollment ID is the registration number that is created during the candidate's registration process at the GOAPS portal. The GATE 2026 enrollment ID is used to access the GOAPS portal. To create a GATE enrollment ID, candidates have to follow the steps below -

  • Visit the official website of GATE 2026 (gate2026.iitg.ac.in)

  • Click on “New Candidate Registration”

  • Enter the required details - name, e-mail address, country of residence, and mobile number. 

  • Create a password and evaluate the arithmetic expression displayed on the screen. 

  • After entering the details, click on submit.
