COEP Technological University (formerly known as COEP) admissions to all courses are strictly based on merit only. Hence, those candidates who do not have a valid score or rank in GATE or MHT-MTech are not eligible for admission to MTech courses of the College of Engineering Pune (COEP).There is no such provision to get admission to MTech at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) without having a valid rank/ score in GATE.GATE is not necessarily required for MTech admissions in India. If you don't have GATE scores, you can aim to apply for MTech courses in private academic institutions in the country or seek study abroad opportunities

To avail of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation benefit, candidates from the general category who fulfil the required criteria can apply. The EWS certificate is issued for one year and its validity expires on March 31 every year. To avail of the reservation benefit under EWS, income and asset certificates issued by the competent authority have to be submitted. To apply for the GATE exam, the candidate has to fulfil the GATE eligibility criteria. These criteria include details such as age limit and minimum educational qualification. The application for the GATE exam can be made by visiting the official website.

To participate in the GATE counselling, candidates must qualify for the GATE exam. The GATE scorecard is valid for three years. Candidates must also have a CGPA of 6.5 or 60% in their graduation from a recognised university/board. On the other hand, candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD candidates must have a minimum of 6 CGPA or 55% in graduation.

The GATE cutoff for NITs and IITs can differ depending on the institute where admission is required. The cutoff marks will be released for multiple rounds. Candidates are advised to check the GATE CCMT dates stay updated.

The GATE cutoff is the minimum mark required for a candidate to score inorder to get qualified in the exam. The GATE cutoff will be different for each branch/discipline. . The cutoff score varies every year and is determined based on factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and available seats.

PSU stands for Public Sector Undertakings. Referring to the GATE exams, PSUs are government-owned corporations or companies in which the majority of the ownership is with the government. The GATE 2026 result will be declared on March 19 (as per the GATE information brochure 2026). Candidates can check their results at GATE candidate login using their enrollment ID and password. The GATE results determines the qualifying status for the counselling.

Candidates who have qualified for the GATE exam will be eligible to download the scorecard. To do so, candidates must provide their GATE enrollment ID and password at the GOAPs portal. The GATE scorecard is valid for three years.

Candidates will not be provided with a hard copy of the GATE scorecard. However, they can download it by logging into the GOAPS portal. The GATE 2026 scorecard will be available for free download from March 27, 2026, to May 31, 2026. Afterwards, candidates can download the GATE scorecard by paying INR 500 from June 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
