GATE

GATE is a national-level examination that aims to evaluate the knowledge and aptitude of candidates in preparation for admission to engineering and management programmes. The GATE Exam has three major sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and the Core subject the candidate has opted for. The Engineering mathematics syllabus is almost same for every paper however, in some paper some topics may be added or removed from the given syllabus as per the requirement of the specific subject. The topics covered under the GATE Engineering Mathematics syllabus are as follows:

• Linear Algebra 

• Calculus and differential equation 

• Complex analysis and Numerical methods 

• Probability and Statistics 

• Discrete Mathematics

General aptitude section is common for all the papers of the GATE Examination. Candidate must know the syllabus of the General Aptitude section  to prepare well for the examination. General Aptitude generally consists of four sections: 

• Verbal Aptitude 

• Quantitative Aptitude 

• Analytical Aptitude 

• Spatial Aptitude 

Candidates can apply for either one or maximum two papers only. They must choose the papers from the set of two-paper combinations listed in the GATE information brochure or GATE official website. The choice of appropriate paper is solely based on the candidate. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear in only one subject.

 Now while filling GATE form, candidates can apply for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations out of the 30 papers. Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have completed any government approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
