The TS PGECET exam is considered to be easier than GATE exam. The GATE, otherwise known as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is more concept-based and is competitive in nature. On the other hand, the TS PGECET is a state-level exam is the competition is low.

No, the TS PGECET and GATE syllabus are pretty much same, however, the difficulty level may vary. The GATE syllabus is more ellaborative focusing on concept and practical approaches. On the other hand, the TS PGECET exam syllabus is more direct and falls under easy to moderate. The authorities will release the TS PGECET syllabus on the official website along with the information bulletin.

A category-wise GATE cutoff mark is the minimum qualifying mark required by candidates in different categories to qualify for the GATE exam or secure admission in M.Tech programs at IITs, NITs, and other institutes. The cutoff can vary for various disciplines and is determined based on factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats.
The cutoff mark is generally divided into the following -
Qualifying cutoff - The minimum score needed to be eligible for the exam, released by IISc/IITs.
Admission cutoff - The score required for M.Tech admissions is set by individual institutes.

No, a GATE score of 40 marks is relatively low for IITs and popular branches like CSE, ME, EE, and ME. The score is considered below average. However, if you score around 40 marks in GATE, you can opt for a branch or institution with less competition. Otherwise, you can attempt GATE next year with more practice and revision.

A safe score in GATE is considered to be a score that is desirable for admissions to IITs, NITs, and top PSUs like ONGC, IOCL, Power Grid, etc. A GATE safe score can be around 80 or above, depending on the branch applied for. With a GATE score of 90+, there are high chances of getting admission in IITs and NITs for the most demanding branches like CS, ME, CE, EC, etc., or qualifying in PSU recruitment.
