CUET is not the only entrance exam conducted by universities and colleges for BSc Geology admission.
It is just that it's the only national-level entrance exam taken. Other exams like - AMU Entrance Exam, IISER Entrance Exam, IPU-CET are also conducted at the university level.

Deciding whether a course is good or bad, completely depends on your skills and interests. A BSc in Geology provides an in-depth understanding of the Earth's structure, the solid and liquid matter that comprises the Earth’s surface, the landforms, processes taking place in Earth’s crust, constituents, understanding the workings of the Earth’s system, and history.

If you foresee your future as a Geologist, or you love to research and gain knowledge about Earth Science, then the course is the best choice for you.
