Eligibility requirements differ by university type as mentioned below for Indian students -

•     Public Universities: Generally require 60–65% or 6.0+ CGPA (on a 10-point scale). ECTS credits are critical — you need at least 240 ECTS credits from your bachelor's degree.

•     Private Universities: More flexible; typically accept 55%+ or 5.5+ CGPA, making them accessible to a wider range of students.

•     Germany uses the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) to evaluate your degree equivalence. Your mark sheet must show credit points.

Indian students are required to submit either the German language proficiency proof or the English language result too. Ludwig Maximillians University of Munich accepts TestDaF 4, Goethe C2 for German and the English tests like IELTS or TOEFL

The test reports should be shared during the application period via the Uni-assist portal. They hold a lot of importance for the application evaluation.

No, students don't need to prove proficiency in German to pursue an English-taught programme at HAW Kiel. However, a minimum B2 level of proficiency in line with the CEFR is needed in English.

Students should have a good grasp of German to make their day-to-day life in Germany easier.
