Yes. Berlin is an educational hub, attracting students from all around the world with diverse nationalities, ethnicities, and racial backgrounds. Thus, Berlin being an international city, English is a popular choice of language in Berlin and universities often offer English-taught courses.
However, not all programs are taught in English and sometimes a university mandates proof of German Language proficiency to enroll. Thus, students are advised to polish their German Language skills, not only to fulfil university eligibility requirements but also to navigate their way through day-to-day activities in a German city with ease.

Berlin has a moderate crime index of approximately 44.66, meaning it is a relatively safe city to reside in. Neighborhoods like Mitte, Charlottenhurg, and Prenzlaur Berg are considered especially safe since they are usually either heavily policed or have a generally low crime rate.
A resident of Berlin is more likely to experience petty theft or vandalism rather than violent crimes. It is advised to avoid neighborhoods like Leopoldplatz, Görlitzer Park, or Alexanderplatz, especially at night, as these areas have a higher crime rate.

Absolutely. The semester fee charged by German universities comes with a bunch of advantages, one of which includes student transportation passes for unlimited use within certain zones (AB/ABC) and at times, outside. Students are advised to reach out to their university's student services or the AStA (Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss) to gain more insights on the semester ticket included in their semester fees.
Other options to commute include public transport like S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, and buses.

The housing options in Berlin for international students include:
- On-campus housing- Popular universities like Humboldt University of Berlin or Free University of Berlin provide on-campus housing facilities for their local, as well as international enrollees.
- Student Dormitories - These are available for both, students with a tighter budget and students fine with spending more for additional comfort. The former can look for dormitories located on the outskirts of Berlin whereas the latter can search in the city centre for more fancier options.
- Shared Flats- Also known as WG or Wohngemeinschaften, these are furnished or unfurnished, shared
