Honestly, the hostel rooms in the new GIBS campus are pretty spacious. It's not that “tight hostel vibe” you usually imagine. You can keep your stuff, move around, and not feel suffocated.

And the common areas are big enough for everyone to chill — whether it's group study, gossip, or just scrolling reels with friends. Plus, because the new campus has a lot of greenery around, it feels nicer to just sit and relax there instead of being stuck in the room.

I'd say the overall vibe is comfortable and open, nothing cramped, nothing dull. Just the kind of space you'd actually enjoy living in.

I genuinely felt that faculty at GIBS don't limit themselves to just teaching the syllabus. They're very involved when it comes to research, entrepreneurship, or even if someone wants to try a startup idea. Because of things like IRE (Innovation, Research & Entrepreneurship) and the whole incubation setup at campus, you actually see professors helping students build prototypes, pitch ideas, and even refine business plans. One of my friends worked on a research paper with a faculty member, and another team tried a small startup concept during our semester and got proper mentorship, not just theory.

For me, the best part is that the facul

Honestly at GIBS the academic environment is pretty decent. It is disciplined enough to keep you serious about studies but not like strict or stressful. There is regular work like assignments, presentations and projects so you stay engaged and don't lose touch.

Workload feels okay because there's good support from faculty and coordinators if you are stuck or need help. Overall it feels manageable and actually useful for placements and career stuff. It's not that boring textbook type environment, more practical and supportive.

I've seen companies from different industries visiting for placements, not just banks or IT firms. Big names like HDFC Bank, EY, Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, Bosch, Britannia, and PhonePe have recruited seniors from our batch. What I personally liked is the variety: finance roles, consulting, sales & marketing, analytics, HR. so students aren't stuck with one direction.

Even for internships, the exposure is decent because startups and corporates both show up. Because of this mix, most of us end up getting roles aligned with specialization, not random filler jobs, which I feel matters more than just showing logos. Overall, the placement ec

Yes — faculty at GIBS Bangalore do that a lot. In most of my classes, instead of just explaining a concept from a book, teachers will pull up real examples from companies, recent business news, or actual situations their contacts have seen in the industry. It makes the session feel less like memorizing and more like learning how things really work.

For example, in marketing class, a topic like “brand positioning” might be explained using a case from a well-known brand campaign, and in finance class, a theory might be linked to how actual companies analyse their numbers. It makes concepts stick better because you can visualize them

The growth of the GIBS campus through relocation has brought about major transformations to GIBS' resources and facilities as they now have upgraded and improved classrooms, luxury villas as hostels, conference halls, training facilities and sports areas. As well as, providing students with a wide array of sporting options such as football, cricket, basketball and pickleball to enhance the overall student experience. The focus of the educational environment is experiential based through outbound training, hands-on learning and very interactive. It allows for students to have a healthy learning, growing and practicable climate that enab

The faculty at GIBS draw on their academic knowledge as well as their professional careers to develop a learning environment where students can learn practically. All work that students complete will be based on a current live project which has allowed them to deal with a real business situation, usually working with a real company. The professionals in the industry bring guest speakers, who present the speaker's thoughts based on their experience, provide a case study of the work completed, and talk about the issues the students are addressing as part of the assignment. Students who participate in these classes are performing the work
