Number of Companies Offering Internships

 According to the GIBS placement statistics for 2025, there were around 80 – 90+ companies that participated in the internship placement drive and offered internship opportunities to students.

This includes participation from a mix of large corporates and emerging startups across sectors such as consulting, FMCG, IT/ITES, finance, retail, and logistics. 

Percentage of Students Getting Internships

The most recent reports suggest that close to 100% of eligible students secure internships through the GIBS placement process. This means essentially all students in the batch who are expected to do internships get at least one internship offer.

GIBS does not publish an official acceptance rate; however, overall admissions are considered moderately competitive based on available pointers. Selection will be based on various factors, such as entrance scores, academic profile, and a good performance in the GD/PI rounds, which carry considerable weightage. The institute accepts all sets of exam scores such as CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., with regular cutoffs such as around 60 percentile for exams like ATMA. Batch data also reflects that 76% of PGDM students are freshers, which means that while many applicants have been admitted, candidates still need to possess a strong profile to stand out. Overall, GIBS holds a balanced record on selectiveness, where a student needs to reflect good performance on the exam, strong communication skills, and a well-rounded profile.

GIBS follows a structured selection process for both BBA and PGDM programs in assessing the academic readiness, communication skills, and overall suitability of the candidate. The selection begins with an online application followed by screening based on academic records. Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo further evaluation rounds, which usually include GD and PI.

• Application Submission: The application should be submitted online to the GIBS through its website, along with uploading the documentation in the required format.
• Short-listing: It is based on academic marks for 10th, 12th and graduation, and entrance exam scores for PGDM.
• Group Discussion (GD):
• Compulsory for PGDM; it helps assess communication, teamwork, analytical ability, and confidence.
• Personal Interview (PI):
• Compulsory for BBA and PGDM; this assesses personality, motivation, clarity of goals, and programme suitability.
• Additional Components: Some applicants might be required to submit their SOP (Statement of Purpose) for the PGDM program.
• Final Selection: Admission is offered based on the overall performance in academics, entrance exam (PGDM), GD-PI scores, and overall profile.
