There are two modes of GMAT exam, which are as follows:

The content, duration, syllabus and pattern of both GMAT exam modes are similar. The only difference is the GMAT exam fee. GMAT online exam is more expensive than appearing for the GMAT exam at the exam centre, which is USD 300 and USD 275 respectively.

Yes, Arizona State University requires GMAT / GRE score for an MBA. To apply to the MBA course, students can fill out the online application form by entering personal details and attaching the documents. ASU application fee is USD 115 (Around INR 9,700) for international students. A few of the details / documents that are required to apply are:

  • Resume
  • Admission essay
  • Recommenders contact information
  • English language proficiency test score
  • Academic transcripts

Yes, more or less the GMAT books are same for preparing for Focus edition with older versions. Applicants can just selectively choose the topics that are relevant for the current GMAT edition and can easily prepare for the exam. However, there are options to buy official guides or prep material from MBA.com website for GMAT Focus Edition.

In order to score well on the GMAT exam and meet the GMAT cut offs for various MBA colleges; you need to prepare for the exam consistently for 3-6 months from authentic GMAT prep resources and appear for GMAT mock tests on a regular basis. You must start with understanding the GMAT pattern and the GMAT syllabus. You can then start your preparation with the official GMAT study material. Make sure to appear for GMAT mock tests. You may also refer to Manhattan Guides, Kaplan study material, etc.

The applicants must not carry with them these at the GMAT exam centre

  • Food

  • Alcoholic drinks

  • Candy

  • Weapons

Also, avoid carrying expensive things or jewellery to the GMAT exam centre.

GMAT exam is conducted online and at a test centre. Applicants can take the GMAT exam in either of the modes. Those who choose to take GMAT online would be required to pay USD 300, whereas, those opting for GMAT exam centre testing will have to pay USD 275. 

Those who wish to take GMAT online will have to have a laptop with good internet speed and connection. Those testing at the centre will have to take the test on the device provided at the test centre itself.
