No, GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) is not compulsory for admission to B.Sc Nursing at Bhai Ghanaiya Ekta College of Nursing. You can directly get admission to the B.Sc Nursing course after completing your 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects. The typical eligibility criteria include:

  1. Completion of 12th with a minimum percentage (usually around 45-50%).
  2. You should have studied PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in 12th grade.
  3. The age limit is typically between 17-35 years.

The latest cut off for the GNM Course of Sant Inder Dass Nursing Institute is applicable based on 40% in mark-sheet of 12th-class examinations. It is, thus applicable to students irrespective of which board they were taken admission from, given an additional preference to them for the science subjects which had been studied by students themselves. The institute holds as many as 40 total seats for the duration of the GNM Course offered that is three years' duration. Admission is merit-based from qualifying examination, and candidates need to fulfill other eligibility conditions, such as age limits, medical fitness, etc.

Focus on key subjects like Biology, Physics, and Chemistry for the GNM nursing entrance exam at Government Medical Institute, Kolkata. These subjects are the fundamentals of the syllabus. English is also to be improved with regard to comprehension and grammar. General knowledge and current affairs are also sometimes included; therefore, being updated in them is a good practice. Practicing previous years' question papers and taking mock tests will familiarize you with the format of the exams and help improve your time management skills. So a well-rounded study plan over these areas will surely ensure success in the entrance exam.
