The basic difference between UPSC and SSC is that UPSC is conducted for group A and B level jobs, while SSC is mostly for group C and D level jobs. Some other differences are:
1. Competition: The SSC has more competition than UPSC. For example, the number of applications for CSE was around 8 to 10 Lacs as per data of recent years, whereas for SSC the number was more than 20 Lacs. However, UPSC is more difficult than SSC due to its syllabus and unpredictability.
2. Vacancies: SSC has a higher number of vacancies than UPSC.

2. Civil servants maintain public law and order. These services are comparatively less adventurous than CDS.
3. It is mostly a non-uniformed service except for IPS and IRS (C&CE).
4. Civil servants mostly deal with civilians and therefore l

2. Lack of guidance: Many aspirants who live in rural areas lack proper guidance. Even today, they face difficulties getting access to study materials. Due to poor internet connectivity, they can't follow up with the latest developments, leading to failure.
