No, the GRE is not typically required for pursuing postgraduate (PG) medical degrees abroad. In short, GRE is required for non-clinical post graduate programs.

Countries and universities usually have specific entrance exams. For example

  • USA: Requires the MCAT (not GRE).
  • UK: Requires exams like UCAT or PLAB exam.

GRE exam is not for students who belong to any specific stream. Graduate Record Examinations is a popular standardized test. It is required for admission to graduate programs. Whether you are planning to pursue PG courses in psychology, economics, or other streams. Many universities accept GRE scores.

University of Michigan does not consider GRE scores as an mandatory admission requirement. However providing the score might strengthen and enhance the candidate's profile and increase the cahnces of acceptance. Same goes with the other standardized test scores like ACT, SAT and GMAT. GMAT scores might be considered mandatory for the MBA program. Applicants are also requested to focus on other admssion requirements like meeting the academic and english language criteria along with submission of necessary documents on an early basis.

No, a GRE score is not required to enter to master's programme in Belgium. Instead, the universities in Belgium prioritize basic eligibility, including a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, and additional entry requirements. Those requirements comprise a letter of recommendation, a motivation letter, or a statement of purpose, a CV/resume, English language requirements, and more.

The University of Leeds does not generally require standardized test scores like ACT, SAT, GMAT or GRE, for admissions of international applicants. Some of the programs like MBA might required GMAT scores, but for other program, these cores are not considered necessary for undergraduate and postgraduate courses . However, candidates can provide these scores at the time of admissions, to enhance and strengthen their profiles and hence, increasing their chances of acceptance.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee does not ask for GRE scores from graduate applicants. However, graduate students prefer to submit it to support their weak application. In addition, international graduate applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent. They must submit certain admission requirements, including transcripts from the university/college attended, a letter of recommendation, a resume/CV, a writing sample, and English language requirements.

GMAT or GRE scores are required for admission into EDHEC Business School. Although you can apply for the programme without GMAT score after a confirmation from the recruitment manager, you need to take the test and send the scores at a later date. The school will provide a conditional offer without GMAT score. You must fulfill GMAT minimum score requirements to confirm your enrolment at EDHEC Business School.

There is no rule regarding failing the GRE exam. However, there is a limit to how many times you can take the test. According to ETS, you can take the GRE once every 21 days, up to five times within any 12-month period (365 days).
