Harvard and MIT are both not just the top universities in the US, but also two of the most reputated universities around the globe. Securing an admission in either of these universities is extremely competitive. However, with the Harvard University acceptance rate of merely 3.41%, the university is slightly more competitive to get into. Whereas, the MIT acceptance rate is around 4.5%. Hence, it is tougher to get into Harvard University.

It is very difficult to compare among top-ranked universities, as all three of them are highly reputed, stringent during admission, have academic excellence, and have small class sizes. Whether Yale is better than Harvard would entirely depend on your preferred course of study. While a few courses are preferred at Yale over Harvard, in the overall world university ranking, Harvard University fares better than Yale.
