You may pursue your bachelor's degree in an area of your interest. Many options are open which include Political Science, History, Law, B.Ed, Liberal Arts etc.

I don't think that will effect your admission provided you have a good score in competitive exam and above 60% in your academics. I am sure you have a reason for that arrear but keep in mind not to repeat it.
I suggest you to take care of your academics in PGDM, make sure you have a decent CGPA of 6 and above. So that you can sit for placements.

Most students earning their Ph.D. in History go on to become professors at the university level. Professors are required to both teach and conduct research on behalf of the university and then present that research at conferences with other professors. Some history PhD graduates become historians, compiling and interpreting historical information contained in various archives and artifacts.
