Systematic Training and Education Programme (STEP)-This is a 3-year programme which provides an opportunity to students to get trained at any one of the 11 hotels of the Oberoi Group. The core operational departments under which training is offered are Food and Beverages, Kitchen, Housekeeping, and Front-Office. Apart from practical training students are also enrolled at Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) course, Bachelors in Tourism Studies (BTS). Under STEP, two programmes are on offer, which is: Hotel Operations Programme: Under this course training is offered under spheres such as housekeeping, front-office and foods, and beverages.
Kitchen Operations Programme: This offers training in India as well as Western kitchens. Training is also provided under operations of specialization such as cold kitchen, pastry, and bakery.

There are many career fields that one can choose from. Often the selection is based on the interest of the student, and future scope. The Hotel management is one of the highest job-oriented fields, it covers a wide range of services including food service, accommodation, and catering.
The major job fields in the hospitality sector include Hotels, resorts, fast food chains, restaurants, etc. A hotel management professional can be employed in any of the above-mentioned fields. The hotel management field is always been a hot career option for the students, with the globalization more and more hotel industries as expanding their business to the global markets. Front office yo food production, both the departments are very different from each other and choosing one of them totally depends on the interest of the candidate, that what they like the most. I will discuss both the departments in brief so you can get an idea about both the departments.
Front office department is the first touch point of the hotel to the guest, operations which are carried away by front office are, welcoming of the guests, check-in of the guest and the documentation needed at the time of check-in and escorting the guest to the room.
On the other hand, food production is the department which deals with the production of the food, doing all the pre-preparation of the food like peeling, cutting of vegetables and meats.
If you have a passion to meet and talk to the people from different culture and race and willing to be the face of the hotel then you should choose the front office.
If you are passionate about your food and are creative then go for food production.
Both the departments are equally important.

Hotel management does not always relate with cooking or something like cleaning. It overall concentrate on all the core operations in a hotel to move on. If you do not have any interest in cooking, try to find a field where you can go free of mind and do something creative with your own ideas. If you your English communication skills are best, you can pursue Hotel management course in front office. Every work profile in hotel deals with your own personal experience and interest. So, plan your path in hotel management with a wide range of branches with a long lasting impact on your own study of subject. Those appearing in Class 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in E-CHAT followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview of the shortlisted candidates to be held in all major cities of the country. Group discussion and interview of eCHAT 2018 admission process will be listed in IIHM eCHAT 2018 Merit List. The Merit List will be prepared based on the marks scored in accordance with their ranks. Candidates will be called for counseling and seat allotment on the basis of eCHAT Merit List. The counseling is tentatively scheduled for the last week of June/first week of July. IIHM eCHAT Counselling will be conducted by Indian Institute of Hotel Management for admissions to hotel management courses

Both are equally good institutes. Christ located in Bangalore and Nagarjuna University in Guntur. Christ University is a better-ranked college in Hotel and Tourism Management sphere than Acharya Nagarjuna University. Both the colleges have good placement record. Acharya Nagarjuna University claims 100% placement. ROI for Christ University is better than Nagarjuna University. Also, facilities in Christ University are better than the former. Christ University has a good team of faculties and an educational foreign trip for students is one of the attractive features of this course.
