According to me, marketing is better as compared to HR. You take any business organization you will find more opportunities in sales, market strategy, market research and similar roles. HR you will have limited roles and few number of skilled people are required to cater them. Instead you will find more opportunities in marketing field and even get higher incentives as per your performance, such an opportunity is rare in HR. So, in my view marketing has an edge over HR.

Yes, you can. There are many other entrance exams which you can try like CMAT and many colleges conduct their own entrance exams so even without writing CAT you can go for MBA.
