Top institutes for MBA in HR are TISS, XLRI and IIMs. Yes it is a good decision to opt for HR. If you have prior experience of working with NGOs or any other social activities than TISS is the best institute. Other known institutes are XLRI, SCMHRD, MDI, IIM-Kolkata, SIBM and XISS. According to me, marketing is better as compared to HR. You take any business organization you will find more opportunities in sales, market strategy, market research and similar roles. HR you will have limited roles and few number of skilled people are required to cater them. Instead you will find more opportunities in marketing field and even get higher incentives as per your performance, such an opportunity is rare in HR. So, in my view marketing has an edge over HR.
