It could be a good option for a fresher to pursue a PGPM from ICFAI Business School (IBS), which is very good at industry contact and placement in the future. But the worth of the degree totally depends on the industry and role you are targeting. Losing an on-campus job or switching careers can be made easier with skills, a network, and the reputation of IBS. Yes, electives are introduced in the third and fourth semesters of the course. There are eight elective subjects a student has to choose in the last two semesters to complete the credits necessary for the course. Each group of electives gives eight credits.

Students of the MBA programme can use the electives to curate a master’s programme for them as they see fit and according to their goals. The electives give the students a chance to build their portfolio while studying at the university.

No, to get admission into IBS Kolkata MBA candidates have to either appear for entrance exams, such as CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ NMAT, and apply through their entrance score or apply for admission through the IBSAT entrance exam conducted by ICFAI Business School (IBS).

Admission into the MBA at IBS Kolkata takes place through micro-presentations and personal interviews conducted as part of the selection process. Hence, there are no direct admissions into IBS Kolkata and all admissions in the MBA programme take place through a series of selection rounds.

The highest salary package offered in IBS Kolkata MBA placements 2024, was INR 10 LPA. It is important to note that the average salary of the top 10% of students placed was close to INR 8.77 LPA, which means a lot of students were offered similar salary packages offered as the highest salary package offered.

This makes the return on investment on IBS Kolkata MBA if a student does exceptionally well in the programme and gets placed in the top 10% salary packages offered, as the total fees of the IBS Kolkata MBA programme stand at INR 9.11 lakh.

The IBS Kolkata MBA programme has a tuition fee of INR 9.11 lakh. Comparing it to the placement figures of 2024, the MBA programme secured an average salary of INR 6.7 LPA. Even if a student is placed in the top 10% of salary packages, still the average salary package is around INR 8.77 LPA.

This means that the placements round isn’t able to fully recover the tuition fees of the programme. Candidates looking to take admission should know that top recruiters during placements are some of the most reputed companies in India, such as ICICI Bank, Deloitte Tax Services, TATA AIG, Axis Bank, etc.

According to the university website, top recruiters at IBS Kolkata MBA Placements 2024 were ICICI Bank, Deloitte Tax Services, TATA AIG, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra, etc. In the placement round 2024 99% of the students got placed and these companies emerged as the top companies for those students.

In the placement round, the 2024 average salary stood at INR 6.7 LPA. Calculating the salary packages of the top 25% of students who got placed, the average salary among them stood at INR 8.43 LPA. If students are looking to be placed in top companies in India, with a decent salary package should apply for IBS Kolkata.

Scholarships are only available for candidates who have appeared for the IBSAT entrance exam. The difference in scholarships depends on merit and the category of students passing the IBSAT exam. The scholarships that IBS Kolkata provides are:

Yes, wards of IBS Alumni can avail scholarship to do an MBA at IBS Kolkata. To be eligible for the scholarship, the candidate’s parent/guardian should be an alumnus of any IBS university in the country. In addition to that, candidates will only be eligible if they clear the IBSAT entrance exam.

The scholarship amount can only be adjusted in the program fees and can’t be used for any other purposes. The scholarship amount for a candidate is INR 2 lakh and can be adjusted in the programme fees for both years.
