JEE Advanced is the national-level exam which is widely conducted by IITs to admit students for the BTech and BTech Integrated courses. To get into IIT Hyderabad through JoSAA counselling, It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates should apply for JoSAA counselling only if they fulfill all the conditions of eligibility. However, many institutes admit students on the basis of JEE Main where there is no requirement of minimum marks in class 12.

Hello,
To be eligible for JEE Advanced candidates must fulfill certain criteria such as meeting the cutoff marks for JEE Advanced and satisfying the academic eligibility criteria. As per the IIT Hyderabad cutoff 2024 for the JEE Advanced exam, the OBC NCL cutoff stood between 649 and 4524 under All India quota. As you can see the cutoff for OBC AI candidates, 7000 rank is comparatively very less for the selection under OBC category. Candidates need to aim under 4524 to get admission at IIT Hyderabad.

As per the IIT Hyderabad year-wise cutoff trends, a significant increase in the difficulty level can be seen in JEE Advanced exam 2025 as compare to JEE Advanced 2024. This is because, in 2024, the level of the paper was near about easy to moderate which had decreased the cutoffs drastically. Moreover, it is expected that the competition for top BTech courses will be seemingly increase to get coveted seat in an IIT.

1. NIT Rourkela EE
2. NIT KKR IT
3. NIT Warangal EEE (My preferred option)

Pursuing self financing M.Tech in VLSI from IIT Hyderabad is good as VLSI has scope in current industry and you are doing it from IIT, so it is better option rather than wasting 1 year.
