IIT Bombay offers 2 MBA courses through the  Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM).Candidates for admission to the Management programme must have a valid CAT score. It is also critical that the candidate meets the qualifying requirements. Furthermore, the ultimate seat allocation is based on CAT result, applicants' graduation, postgraduate/professional performance, and job experience. Below is the IIT Bombay eligibility criteria for MDes Mobility and Vehicle Design course:

  • Candidates need to pass four-year bachelor's degree in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design (BPlan considered equivalent to BArch and four-year BSc Engineering course after HSC considered equivalent to BE/ BTech) or, 
  • Professional Diploma in Design (minimum 4 years) or,

Yes, IIT Bombay conducts Common Entrance Exam for Design or CEED for admission to MDes programme. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in online mode. It is a three-hour exam conducted once in a year. Candidates shortlisted based on CEED rank have to also appear for IDC written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted aspirants are further require to come for an interview round for final selection.

The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay MDes is INR 1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD category or a child of institution staff are exempted from paying the tuition fee. There is a concessional and a non-concessional fee for candidates belonging to General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category. The concessional is offered on tuition fee. Candidates apart from the tuition fee are required to pay examination fee, medical fee, etc. Students not staying in hostel are exempted from the payment of hostel fee.
