You can learn new software language to improve your CV. You can start preparations for CAT/GATE which ever field you want to go for Technical (GATE) or Management (CAT). You can also start preparing for Public Services exams. If you have interest in social services then do join a NGO, it's also a nice way to make a good profile.

German universities are excellent for higher studies such as M.Sc in Computer Science. Fee in German universities is nominal. Germany is liberal in granting work visa after completing studies in Germany.

I would rather recommend you to go for security specialist professionals. These jobs are highly payable and in high demand as most companies need them to protect their own data.
This requires knowledge of computer networking. As you've mentioned that you will be opting for software engineering, I would suggest, you should opt for security specialist course during or after your third year of engineering, as by then, the basics required for security specialist course would have been covered in your engineering syllabus.
