B.Tech Information Technology focuses on understanding, designing, and developing of application programs and computers. IT concentrates on programming languages, data structures, data transformation, and algorithms, RDBMS etc. Advanced courses present specialised programming techniques and specific application domains such as ERP, E-commerce, Data Analytics etc. IT graduates are hired by for Application Development and Maintenance roles by IT companies and IT department of Business Enterprises.

Both B.Tech CSE and B.Tech IT are similar engineering branches with 80 to 90% overlap in syllabus. Both subjects prepare students for jobs as software engineer in IT industry and its related jobs. B Tech CSE is treated as a superior branch over B.Tech IT in Indian IT industry. CSE prepare students for system programming role and IT prepares students for Application Development Programming. B.Tech ECE is the core branch of engineering which prepares students for electronics and telecom Industries. ECE graduates are also eligible for jobs in IT and ITES industries.

B.Tech CSE is a superior branch over B.Tech IT. CSE prepare students for System Programming role and IT prepares students for Application Development Programming. CSE grads can easily do Apps Programming but IT grads may find it difficult to be a system programmer without any training. CSE grads are always preferred over IT grads by recruiters.

You can look for SCIT-Pune. You can get admission in this college through SNAP. IIMs also offer MBA in IT, a good score in CAT is enough to get calls from top B-schools.
