The IPU B.Tech. counseling registration period is open from May 22 to June 13, 2024. From May 24 to June 14, 2024, documents for reserved categories will be verified. IPU CET 2024 counseling is conducted in online method. Applicants may take part in the counseling from all over the nation. The official website is the only way to obtain the admit cards; no offline means, including postal delivery, will be used. The IPU CET Admit Card will not be posted or exhibited anywhere. Once the application form has been successfully completed, the IPU CET Admit Card will be available. The admission card will be made accessible around a week before the exam date. If a candidate has registered for more than one exam, individual IPU CET Admit Cards will be given for each.

The criteria for appearing in IPU CET B.Tech counselling is considered as a little different for regular B.Tech courses compared to B.Tech and lateral entry programs:
- Regular B.Tech Courses:
- Valid JEE Main scorecard is required. IPU CET scores are not considered for these programs.
- B.Tech (Biotechnology) & Lateral Entry Programs:
- JEE Main scorecard is not mandatory. Seat allotment for these programs happens based on your IPU CET score.

The weightage given for each topic in the IPU CET for Lateral Entry to B.Tech course for Diploma Holders is as follows:
- Applied Mechanics (25%)
- Applied Mathematics (25%)
- Computer Awareness and
- Physics/Chemistry Knowledge (25%)
- Analytical and Logical Reasoning (25%)
This means that all four sections contribute equally to your final score in the IPU CET for Lateral Entry to B.Tech.
