Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), commonly known as IPU, follows a region-based reservation policy for admission to its affiliated colleges. This policy divides available seats into two major quotas:

• Delhi Region Quota

Seat allotment in IPU CET counselling is a centralised, merit-based, and preference-driven process conducted online by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The process applies to both CET-based courses and programs that use national-level exams (like JEE, NEET, CLAT, etc.).

The primary and most comprehensive repository for all counselling-related schedules is the “Schedule” section of the IPU admissions portal. This section includes downloadable notices for different programmes such as counselling dates, spot rounds, registration details, choice filling windows, and more.

The IPU CET for B.Tech Biotechnology covers Physics (20%), Chemistry (20%), Mathematics (20%), and Biology/Biotechnology (40%), with questions based on class 11–12 syllabus. The exam is offline (OMR), spans 150 questions in 3 hours, and carries negative marking (1 per wrong answer) with +4 for correct responses.  

The result of IPU CET 2026 is expected to be announced in the first week of June 2026, as per the tentative exam schedule. The examination is likely to be held in the fourth week of May 2026, with admit cards being released in the third week of May. After the declaration of results, the counselling process is expected to begin from the second week of June 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official GGSIPU website for the final schedule and official notifications.
