Yes, it is a good branch. But opt for metallurgy only if you are interested in this field.

I think so, if you want to devote one more year for JEE, then only. If you have a strong will power, then only try for it. Otherwise, it will waste your prestigious 2 years and you will have a regret of lifetime. Please let me know how are your studies going on? Are you not able to study well or unable to concentrate? Have you registered for any coaching institute droppers batch. Then, I may help you in letting know of how to get you through the exams and out of wits.

NCERT books are the best to prepare for such competitive exams. Prepare your 11th & 12th syllabus thoroughly from your books. You can solve the previous years' question papers and sample papers also.

Yes, it is still a matter of discussion, as CBSE gives a clue about this idea. I think this idea will not be succeed as number of candidate will be larger and too much money will be spent on it. After all nothing can be said. Be prepared.

Crossing 100+ in JEE with one year drop is no matter, you should aim for scoring 250+, which will be useful to you and in drop year your determination is only thing which can help you. Study for 8-10 hours without any distractions.
