College of Engineering, Pune fills its seats via MHT-CET not via JEE Mains, so for getting admission in any of its branches, you will have to score very well in MAHCET, any score more than 130 is considered safe for admission.
All the best.

No, because here Admission is based on the rank obtained in WBJEE/ JEE Mains/ Merit basis and performance in AUAT (Adamas University Admission Test).
You can give AUAT (but application form fill update is gone) which is a university-based exam for admission to all UG and PG programs granted on the basis of the score in (AUAT) followed by evaluation of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. WBJEE or JEE Mains qualified candidates can also apply for admission to B.Tech and B.Pharm program.
It admits students from any state. In fact, there is no home state or other state quota in Adamas university. A lot of students from UP, Bihar, etc.

Yes, you can appear for JEE Mains but you cannot take admission in any of the colleges accepting JEE scores, you need to have a proper, all clear, class 12th mark sheet.

According to me, there are no drawbacks of dropping 1 year for preparations of JEE Mains & Advance. Here is an article by JEE expert Ramesh Batlish who is Centre Head, Noida FIITJEE explaining important points to remember during studying for exams and advantages of dropping a year for preparing for JEE Mains. He holds a BE in Electronics & Telecom (Hons). He is a senior mathematics faculty with over a decade of successful association with FIIT JEE. Here's the link:

Yes, polytechnic students give JEE Mains paper but only get an entry from 1st year in IIT. Diploma students don't have a lateral entry scheme in IIT. So, if you really want to get into an IIT for B.Tech, you will have to sit for both Mains & Advanced exams and crack them. So, if you only want to get into an IIT. Don't mind an added year and prepare very thoroughly for Mains & Advanced and clear them (which is a herculean task to do as they have a wide range of questions with ultimate depths). Otherwise, you can follow the normal process of getting into any other engineering college via your Diploma percentages and preparing h
