JEE Mains is an entry-level exam for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutes. It focuses on basic concepts and problems. JEE Advanced is more conceptual and challenging, testing deep understanding and problem-solving ability across subjects. It is required for admission to IITs.

Hey dude,
I consider low percentile as 75%. With this u cant get IIT, NIT, or other gift universities utill u are in st category.
However You can get good universities with low JEE percentile. Some college or universities consider JEE percentile as part of their admissions. For example, My college sastra consider 50% in JEE and 50% in 12th for special category admissions.
It maybe help u to get good universities with decent course.

Hi Anita,
I got 94% in jee. I read NCERT book with some question banks. I would say ncert are very fundamental in mains. But ncert is not itself sufficient enough. Consider ncert as good basic and try to solve all questions in it.
In addition to NCERT, however, for JEE Advanced, it is not sufficient as the level of questions in JEE is tougher and requires deeper reasoning and extensive practice. More reference books like H.C. Verma for Physics and M.L. Khanna for Mathematics have to be consulted to solve those advanced problems.

The candidate must at least score a minimum of 50% marks in their examination. NIT Rourkela offers admission after considering the 12th exam results, JEE Main score. A merit list shall be made category-wise, listing the All India Rank (AIR) of candidates which is used for the Counselling process.
