Historical data linking percentiles with ranks could be used to check your estimated rank in the JEE Main at 82. Usually, an 82 percentile gives a rank somewhere in the range of approximately 169,542 to 92,303.

Rank estimation based on percentile

Since you are at 82 percentile, then your rank will most likely fall within this range. This means you did better than about 82 out of 100 candidates taking the exam.

It is as per the normalization process used by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which in turn achieves fairness of rankings across sessions and across difficulty levels of examination.

Final Answer: Expected rank in JEE Main at 82

Yes, JEE Main marks matter when applying to the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT):

Admission options

You can apply for admission to JIIT based on both your 10+2 marks and JEE Main score by filling out separate forms.

Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to JIIT's B.Tech program, you need to have at least 60% aggregate in your 10+2 or equivalent exam.

Program-specific admission

For some programs, like Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, 50% of seats are allotted based on JEE Main rank, and the remaining 50% are allotted based on 10+2 marks.

You can't join Universal AI University's B.Tech programme without taking the JEE Main exam. They consider JEE Main scores, as well as MHT CET and CUET UG scores, for admission.

if you got 149 marks in JEE Main 2024 (27th January, Shift 1), you can expect a percentile of around 96 to 97.5. It's depending on the session's difficulty. The percentile is calculated through the normalization process.  If your shift was harder than others, your percentile might be higher.

A rank of 404,776 in JEE Main would not get him into the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch of PSIT (Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology), as the CSE branch is very competitive. The top ranks usually are needed for admission into CSE in most institutions.

With a 60 percentile in JEE Main, admission to Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Indore for a B.Tech programme is highly unlikely. IIST typically requires much higher JEE Advanced ranks for its B.Tech programs, as it is a premier institute focused on space and aerospace engineering, with stringent admission criteria.

If you're referring to other institutions with similar acronyms, such as Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST), admission might be possible with a 60 percentile, depending on the programme and seat availability. Many private colleges and state-level institutions consider JEE Main percentile

The College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) primarily admits students to its B.Tech programs through the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination, and not typically through JEE Main. Admission via JEE Main scores is not a standard pathway for CET, as the college follows state-level entrance criteria.

If there are exceptions or changes in admission policies, such as accepting JEE Main scores for specific categories (e.g., NRI or management quotas), it's best to consult CET's official admission guidelines or contact their admissions office for precise and updated information.
