Going for a newly opened IIIT won't be a good idea, as it will take time for the new place to establish it properly.
With this JEE score, you can get you a seat in some of the best private universities like Lovely, Galgotias, Goenka, etc. Most of these universities are offering admissions on the basis of JEE score, their own tests and 12th marks. Some of them are also offering good scholarships on the basis of above mentioned criteria.
Private universities these days are at par with government ones only, in fact better when it comes to infrastructure, faculty and placements.

It totally depends on you that how much you can do hard work in the upcoming year and how much interest you have in PCM. If you will work hard then definitely, you will get good marks but if you will not work hard you will lose one important year. If you can avoid social sites like Facebook and travelling to adventurous places and can study for atleast 9 hours a day continuously for one year and can study well. Then, try but if you can not do these things then think twice. Also, consult your teachers about this because your teachers know you well and if you decide to drop then take a coaching institution and if you think not to drop then try for a good private college.

Well, actually getting good grades in college does not mean you have to work hard, but it definitely means that you have to put-in smart work instead of hard work. Besides, college life is totally different in the terms that you get out and learn what real life is.! Try to work smart, refer the previous papers of the professors to understand the important topics according to them and focus on them more. Try new things too. Like get involved in the fests of your college, learn some event management, take part in drama, dance, etc co-curricular activities. Try and make the most of college because what you do in life is partly dependent on your college. So, study smartly and don't forget to have fun because college days are best in life.
