If you clear JEE mains and are eligible for JEE advance then you have chances to get a government college like NIT.

Don't worry, you still stand a chance as cut off for OBC is 49.

UPES takes majority of admission through her own exam conducted by the college fir getting admission in various course available.
Exam name is UPESEAT conducted on 13th may 2017 so you have to fill form by the official site of college and then go through exam for admission.

As you have said that, you have dropped a year so, if you drop another year, it may harm as, university and companies may question about the gap. I would suggest you to take admission in VIT.
