Hi Sanket,
Since you are getting 154, you may get any lower NITs or IIITs, but if you want to appear in JEE 2018, you definitely can. Dropping a year doesn't seem to be problematic more or less, every one does. But, if you got any good college option this year, then take admission and continue with that, you may also attempt JEE continuing with your 1st year studies.

Hi Gulshan,
Since you missed JEE, there are many colleges in spite of IITs and NITs which offers good placement, but first tell me, did you apply for any other colleges as the deadline of most of the exams are closed. So, you may not apply to those. But, you can still apply for Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune which is a really a good college. You may also apply to these colleges:

There is a huge difference between boards syllabus and of IIT syllabus. You may not clear IIT by reading only boards oriented study material.
Have a look over the syllabus of IIT JEE.
