NCERT books are the best as reference books for all the examinations conducted by CBSE. However, you will have to solve a good number of MCQs, which will boost your confidence.

Online is better because some questions from offline paper tally to it and you will get 1 week more time to prepare yourself for the exam.

For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students, the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. The states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland, Odisha and some other institutions have joined JEE (Main) system. Hello Kapil,
CBCS allows students to select from a variety of courses offered by a particular college to get credits and obtain desired degree. Majority of institutions abroad have this system in place as against very few in India. You will have to go to website of UGC to know in detail.

Hello Lavanya,
There are many colleges who are admitting students based on JEE Mains. On the other hand, there are many state governments who have their own CETs. It will need a mass movement and pressure on government of India to start something like NEET for engineering students also. Till then, unfortunately, students will have to appear for many entrance exams conducted by these institutions.
