The good part of it would be that you will have more time to prepare and if you utilize it well then you can have higher marks and hence would get a more reputed college to study. You can even try for IIT's if not NIT's. You will also be able to enhance your knowledge level. The other side of the coin is that your batch mates of school would be a year ahead of you. Your graduation will get delayed by an year. And if you do not utilize your time well then there is no guarantee that you will score more next year in the same exam. For B.tech IT and ECE the cutoff is 9k to 10k while for the Dual degree courses it is around 10k to 15k depending on the M.tech specialization offered for the second degree. This is around a score of 200 on an average seeing the past patterns. However the board result and percentile also are a major factor in the same.
