1. The admission to the first 50% of the seats shall be made on the basis of merit/rank/score obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2020 hereinafter referred as JEE (Main)-2020}. The remaining 50% seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test-2020 (hereinafter referred as HPCET2020)
2. In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of JEE Main 2020 and HPCET-2020, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognised Board or Univer

Like most of the engineering colleges, there are two criteria for getting admission in Thapar Institute, Patiala. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage (PCM or PCB). The division of seats for the above two is 70% and 30% respectively.
