The first thing that you need to do is to choose a decent college that I would recommend you is PCTE Group of Institutes since I have done my Masters from PCTE, I can assure you that PCTE is a college that is known for providing hands on experience to its students. Having said that Journalism and Mass Communication is a practical oriented course and requires learning of many technical aspects. Journalism students involved in a lot of activities whether its print or electronic media, during the course you would go for 6 months training and according to your area of interest PCTE would also gets you a job once you are graduated so you don't have to look for a job. Journalism and mass communication however is a very interesting course I have seen the students do a lot of practical work, they buzz around the campus to cover campus events with drones, gimble, and other sophisticated gadgets. Also visited this sound proof studio where mixing and editing computers, software and equipment are used by the students. Later saw several videos which were shared in our WhatsApp groups, which were shot and made by Journalism dept students. I was really inspired. Typically, the basic eligibility for pursuing a B.A. (Hons) Journalism course is 10+2 qualification. The student should have qualified senior secondary with a minimum of at least 50% marks. Some institutes even conduct entrance tests for this course. Students whose 12th results have been declared or who are awaiting their results can fill the application forms for the course. After the submission of the application form, most institutes conduct a written test (objective and/or subjective type) which is usually followed by a personal Interview. The final selection of candidates for admission is based on the performance in written test, interview and marks scored in Grade 12. Also, look at the option of B.A. (Hons) Journalism, Media and Communication as that provides aspirants with knowledge about various journalistic skills in mass media such as newspapers, television, radio, internet, etc. It is a holistic course and so a good option to consider.
