Seoul National University is the most prestigious university in South Korea and it maintains the the strictest admission standards (generally requiring top-tier academic records). 

Yonsei University acceptance rate stands around 18% which is a lot better than SNU and Korea University. So, it is easier to get into Yonsei than SKY universities.

In Times Higher Education rankings for Best Universities in South Korea, Korea University ranks at #6 in 2026. In the world rankings, this university ranks at #156. In South Korea Universities rankings, Korea University ranks among the Top 10 Universities. Whereas in the world rankings, Korea Uni ranks among the Top 200 Universities in Times Higher Education rankings.

Indian students must have completed primary and secondary school education for admission to Korea University's UG courses. Language proficiency scores have to be submitted too

  • IELTS or TOEFL scores for evidence of English language proficiency
  • TOPIK iBT for Korean language proficiency

It can not be considered easy for Indian students to adjust easily to Korean Culture, food and student life at Korea University. This university is generally described as welcoming by students and offering strong support systems

Given below are the challenges Indian students may face at KU -

  • Food is the biggest issue here at Korea University as almost everything available has pork, beef or seafood, even vegetarian options. 
  • There are 5 on-campus cafes at Korea University but they all lack food customisation. Indian restaurants are quite expensive in Seoul.

As per an unofficial source, Korea University generally offers a very welcoming environment for Indian students. This is often characterized by high-quality education, vibrant student club activities and a fast paced culture. 

Although gelling up with Korean peers may be a challenge for Indian students, as they seem reserved. 

The students can join their peers in cafeterias, university events and clubs for a better integration.
