The English syllabus has been recently revised. It now covers the English literary tradition that extends from Chaucer to modern times. It also incorporates several new areas such as Indian literature in English and in English translation, continental literary theory, significant imaginative writing from outside England, gender studies, and the relationship between literature and the visual arts. If you are interested in languages and writing, I suggest three courses for you :
#1. B.A. English (H)
Choose this if you simply love 'literature'. This course is also called as Literature honors because that's what you study; heavy literature and its cultural and historical context. Choose this if you love reading and love how writers weave words. * You won't have any grammar and vocabulary to study. Only pure literature* You can become any of the following: writer, editor, PR or Corporate Communications manager, social media/brand manager, Research Analyst and content writer.

Hi!
Admission to M.A. In Social Work in India in most of the institutes is done through an entrance test which is generally conducted in the month of June or July. However, there may be an additional round of Personal Interview which may be conducted by some universities.

Hello Anindita, Yes, most of the colleges provide certain elective subjects with your core subject (the one in which you are doing your graduation). For English (H) specifically, electives can differ from philosophy, history, economics, etc. All the best!

Hey, hope you have already seen the criteria for admission in Miranda House. All I want to suggest is that there are subsequent cut-off marks list please check them on regular basis and do apply in the stream you want to gain admission.
If the seats are vacant, you can definitely get admission in the subsequent lists.
