Practice is the answer to your question. You can't be good at English overnight you have to practice for it. Learning English is not that tough the things you have to do is to read and write whatever you can. Try to read at least 5 to 6 English articles daily or newspaper especially The Hindu. Language in The Hindu newspaper is quite difficult but it will definitely help you to improve your knowledge and also your English language. Try to speak with others in English and don't worry about whether you are speaking wrong or right. Also, if possible try to write few lines in English daily about anything you want but writing will definitely help you.

Hello Yukta, I can totally sympathise with you. I understand your angst and desires. Frankly speaking, best course is to talk directly with your mom & dad and explain to them desires. I will give you some ammunition. As per data of HRD ministry, 50% of fresh engineering graduates remain jobless. So what big fun in doing engineering. For the academic year 2017-18, engineering has been displaced by Science as preference for graduation. There are enough opportunities of a job for the experts of english language. You can get job in any city. You can start your own classes to teach english. But ultimately its your ability to convince parents that will matter. Best wishes.
