Hi Shanmukha, if you're already pursuing Engineering then I'd recommend you to go for 3 year LLB. 5 year LLB is also an option but it's longer and ideal for those who have finished their 10+2 but for graduates, there's a 3-year LLB Programme that they can enroll. It's comprehensive, and you will be eligible to practice law on finishing the Course. The weightage is the same on both the courses. However, for NLU's you have to appear for CLAT and on qualifying the exam you can get admission in one of the NLU's. But CLAT is for 5 year LLB and not for 3 year LLB. So choose wisely. LLB Eligibility Criteria:
The minimum eligibility criteria for LL.B. Course is listed below:
Successful completion of graduation in any discipline. Minimum aggregate marks in graduation are required for general category and the marks are relaxable for reserved categories. There is also a criterion for minimum marks required in graduation which may vary from institute to institute. There is no age limit for taking admission in this course. LL.B. Admission is done either on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in qualifying degree or through a relevant entrance test. Students who are in the final year of their graduation can also apply for entrance tests conducted for LL.B. Admission 2019. There are various entrance tests conducted for LL.B. Admission in India. Admission to LL.B. Course is generally done on the basis of entrance exams conducted either on a national level or institute-wise. A list of entrance exams for admission to the course has been mentioned below:
1. CLAT Common Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law Universities for admissions to LL.B. Courses.
2. ISAT- Law School Admission Test is a globalized entrance test and many Indian universities consider its score for LL.B. Admission.
3. AILET All India Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law University, Delhi
4. LAWCET- Law Common Entrance Test is conducted by colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh for admission to LL.B. Programs

The PMSSS is a scholarship scheme for J and K students who wish to pursue the higher study from the other states in AICTE UGC and government recognized institutions.
There are certain norms for eligibility like maximum income should not be more than INR. 6 Lacs yearly. The following institutions are covered in PMSSS as under:
1 Centrally Funded Institutes like IITs NITs and Central Universities etc.
2 AICTE approved Institutions
3 Institutions approved by UGC under section 12B.
4 Students taking admissions under MEDICAL STREAM in institutions approved by respective regulatory authority
