GRE exam scores are not a mandate for admissions in German universities. However, the top universities in Germany do require a GRE score for MS courses. Hence, you must take the GRE exam if you wish to pursue MS in Germany. Also, your GRE exam scores elevate your profile and help you stand apart from the crowd.

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or PTE (Pearson Test of English): To assess English language proficiency.

Students who have a genuine passion to pursue further studies in topics covered under engineering, computer science, and general sciences should opt for MS studies. An MS in a relevant subject gives high order of expertise in the subject which can help students get to even higher positions in the industries, join as professors/lecturers in the universities or go for a PhD.

Work experience is not mandatory for getting admitted to a MS course abroad. However, it can bring about a significant impact on the way your application is seen by the university. Especially when you're low on academic achievements, a relevant work experience can help you get through the admission and selection process by making your application standout. However, candidates are advised to check the same with the university as every university would have its own unique admission eligibility criteria.

Universities abroad explore course versatility and are able to teach the depths required to handle subjects covered under MS and combine theory with practical knowledge. Hence, students who can afford to study MS abroad should take the plunge as the gains outweigh the risk in the long run.

There is no fixed duration for MS abroad as they vary from university to course abroad. While most specialisations would take up to 2 years to complete, there are other specialisations that could take a shorter period of time or in other cases, stretch beyond the two years. The duration of the course is entirely dependent on the university and specialisation you have opted for.
